▼Synopsis
Trinity is an acrobatic unit comprised of identical triplets, Ayane, Kakari, and Mitsuki. Armed with their "perfect synchronization," as if they share even their breathing and heartbeats, they strive for their dream solo performance. However, their harmony falters when their eldest and leader, Ayane, secretly decides to join a world-renowned circus troupe and move to the United States.
"Weren't we one?" The hearts of the remaining younger brothers are troubled and wandering, like the "nighthawks" despised as ugly birds. The second son, Kakari, learns kindness by empathizing with the loneliness of a former dancer who fears dancing. The third son, Mitsuki, continues to struggle with his injured leg, consumed by an inferiority complex about his overwhelming talent. By experiencing pain, they begin to search for the first time for the brilliance of their own selves, and not just copies of someone else.
Then, on the day of their performance, a desperate problem occurs and the venue is banned from use. Having lost everything, they choose their final stage to perform on the rooftop of a building in the cold wind. The piece they perform is "The Nighthawk Star," the story of a bird that burns itself to become a star. During a live broadcast to the whole world, they are struck by an accident in which the sound suddenly goes out. However, silence was their domain. In a soundless world, the three of them burn with life like pale phosphorescence, demonstrating unprecedented perfect synchronization. This is the story of the first and last night when three people who share one soul burn out in order to return to being "individuals" once again.
